A pergola in Dubai is a structure before it is a feature. It has to stand up to summer heat, to the shamal winds that arrive off the Gulf, and to UV that will fade an unsuitable finish within a couple of seasons. Those three things, not the styling, decide the material and the fixing.
Which is why the fixing detail matters more than the span. How the posts meet the ground, whether a slab can take the load, and how the structure ties into the villa wall determine whether it is still square in five years. We survey that before drawing anything.

Aluminium or wood?
Aluminium holds its line and needs little upkeep, which is why most Dubai installations use it. Wood looks warmer and can be worth it in a shaded courtyard, but it needs recoating on a schedule here and will not forgive being ignored. We quote both so the difference is a decision rather than a default.
Do I need a permit for a pergola?
It depends on the community and the size, and some developers and owners associations have their own rules. Check with yours before ordering; we can supply drawings for an application, but the approval is between you and the authority.
Will a louvred roof actually keep rain out?
A closed louvre sheds water, but only if the frame drains it away properly. The gutter and downpipe detail is part of the design, not an accessory, and we show you where the water goes before installation.
